RWBY: Amity Arena was a player vs. player mobile game that revolves around 3 minute, 1 on 1 matches. Matches can be played For Fame, a friendly unranked mode, and For Fun, in which players' scores rise and lower based on the results of the match. Both modes share the same que: only the results will be altered.
Within a match, each player has a steadily regenerating mana bar, referred to as Aura. Aura starts at 7 units out of 10, and steadily increases by a unit approximately every 2 seconds and twice as fast in the last minute of the game. Aura is used to play cards in your hand to summon units that cost differing amounts of aura (see also: Card List), generally revolving around attacking the opponent’s structures.
Each player has three structures, a tower and two turrets. Destroying any structure gives you a Dust Crystal, while destroying the tower will destroy any remaining turrets and immediately win the game with all three potential Dust Crystals. If no towers are destroyed, the player with more Dust Crystals from turrets will win the game. If the quantities are tied, 3 minutes of sudden death will begin, in which the first player to gain an advantage wins immediately. If no crystals are gained by the end of this period, the match will be considered a draw.
Strategy in Amity Arena is determined by bringing the right cards to each match, as well as strengthening both them, and your own structures, via obtainable resources. This page includes a comprehensive list of what those resources are, followed by the various ways to obtain them within Amity Arena.
Amity Arena also includes Battle for Beacon, a multi-stage hack and slash campaign mode, and the Plaza, an open world communal center for players to hang out in as their favorite characters.
